Snake Removal

Whether venomous or non-venomous, snakes pose quite the problem where there is a proximity close to humans. Most people think “the only good snake is a dead one”, and people think that because they are terrified of snakes. For good reason, approximately 8,000 people every year are bitten by venomous snakes. Here's a rundown of the six venomous snakes to watch for in Florida.

  • Eastern diamondback rattlesnake. Average adult size: 36 to 72 inches

  • Dusky pigmy rattlesnake. Average adult size: 12 to 24 inches

  • Canebrake or timber rattlesnake. Average adult: 36-60 inches

Not all snakes in Florida a venomous. Florida has over seventeen non-venomous snakes that are quite helpful to have around as they help aid in rodent control.

  • Black Racer

  • Red and Yellow Rat Snake

  • Garter Snake

  • Eastern Indigo

  • Florida Pine

  • Scarlet King (not to be confused with the venomous coral snake)

Snake Trapping

There are up to 40 different species of snakes in the state of Florida. Do you know which ones arenon-venomous snakes, such as the common black snake (also know as the garden snake) can be beneficial by feeding on rats, mice, and other rodents that transmit disease and cause agricultural damage. Venomous snakes, however, can be fatal to humans, domestic animals, and livestock. Miler's Wildlife Services will be happy to remove any type of snake that has entered your home or business!
